Terms of Use
Last updated: July 2026
By using Everything But The Chef (“EBTC”, the “app”) you agree to these terms. The app is also covered by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
The service
EBTC helps you plan meals and build grocery lists. The free tier is fully functional on one device. EBTC Plus is an optional auto-renewing subscription (monthly or annual) that unlocks household sync, unlimited custom recipes with URL import, and breakfast & lunch planning. Prices are shown in the app before you subscribe.
Subscriptions
- Payment is charged to your Apple account at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Manage or cancel any time in your Apple account settings (Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions).
- Any free-trial period is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- One subscription covers your household: others join your invite code for free.
Your content
Recipes and other content you add remain yours. When household sync is on, you grant us permission to store and transmit that content solely to provide sync to your household’s devices. Don’t import or share content you don’t have the right to use.
Acceptable use
Don’t abuse the sync service (automated scraping, bulk data storage, attempting to access other households, or disrupting the service). We may throttle or suspend abusive usage.
Food-safety disclaimer
Recipes and cook times are provided for convenience and are not professional dietary, allergy, or food-safety advice. Diet tags on recipes (including recipes you import) are informational — always verify ingredients yourself if you have an allergy or strict dietary requirement.
Warranty & liability
The app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.
Changes
We may update these terms; continued use after an update constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be noted in release notes.
